Deferred Dues Account
How the 7% Dues Deduction Works
The contractor deducts Seven percent from each individuals gross pay.
The seven percent is divided into three parts:
1. Working Dues: (By-Laws, Article X, Section 8), which is either 1.50% or 1.25%.
This money is used to operate the Local Union. The Local Union receives this money monthly.
2. Per Capita Dues: 1.50% or 1.75% is kept in an account in each individuals name.
In January of each year, if a member of Local Union 332 has signed the
dues deduction card, the union office takes International and Local Union
Per Capita Dues out of this account in increments of $26.00 per month
and prints an official dues receipt for one to twelve months, depending
on how much money is in the members account. Please remember that
this money is for per capita dues for the coming year. The remainder of
the money in the per capita dues account (less authorized Cope deductions
and Building Trades Assessment (BTA = .06 cents per hour]) is mailed to
the individual on or about February 15th each year.
3. Additional Dues: is 3% of the 7%
Traveling brothers and non-members receive all their money less Working Dues, BTA, and Additional Dues and/or authorized Cope deductions.
- Example: Based on $70,000.00 gross wages (based on 1674 Hours worked)
$ 4,900.00 = 7% dues deduction
$ (875.00) = Working Dues @ 1.25%
Balance $ 4,025.00 = Per Capita dues account (1.50% or 1.75%)
$ (312.00) =12 months per capita @ $26.00 (LU. 332 only)

Example: Based on $45,000.00 gross wages (approx 1674 hrs).
1.25% Working Dues = $562.50
$.06/Hr BTA = $100.44 (based on 1674 hrs worked)
Basic membership Dues $26.00/mo x 12 = $312.00.
Basic Dues & Additional Working Dues: Upon receipt of a voluntary written authorization, the Employer agrees to deduct and forward Monthly to the Local Union, the Union Membership dues and the additional working dues from the pay of each IBEW member. The amount to be deducted shall be the amount specified in the approved Local Union By-Laws. Such amount shall be certified to the Employer by the Local Union upon request by the Employer.
