If you want to learn how to install wiring for one of the country’s hottest electrical contracting markets, the Inside Wireman's apprenticeship program is for you.

Inside Wiremen connect and maintain basic electrical and lighting systems in commercial, industrial and technical facilities. They also work on Commercial Photovoltaic Installations, Building Automation Systems, Traffic Signals, Trade Shows, etc.

Training Program

Inside Wiremen Apprentices complete a five-year training program with 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. After graduating from the program, Apprentices advance to become a Journeyman Inside Wireman.

To qualify for the apprenticeship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Graduated from high school or received your GED
  • Have a valid California Drivers License or ID
  • Completed two years of high school math, including one year of Algebra.
  • Pass the Aptitude Test, which focuses on verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, mechanical reasoning, spatial relationships and physical orientation.

How To Apply

You must apply in person with a photo ID and proof of high school graduation or GED, with photo identification, the first Wednesday of the Quarter, between 9:00am - 1200pm at the Santa Clara County Joint Apprenticeship Training Center at 908 Bern Court, San Jose, CA 95112.
