Residential Apprenticeship

Think About Your Future

Today’s homeowners want the latest, most up-to-date technology in their homes. But who makes it happen? It starts with the Residential Wiremen, who install and connect electrical systems in homes, condos and apartments.

The Santa Clara County JATC trains the Residential Wiremen on how to install and maintain basic electrical and power distribution systems within a residential environment.

Residential Wireman apprentices complete a three-year training program. To qualify for the apprenticeship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Graduated from high school or received your GED
  • Have a valid California Drivers License
  • Pass the Aptitude Test, which focuses on verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, mechanical reasoning, spatial relationships and physical orientation.

How To Apply

You must apply in person with a photo ID and proof of high school graduation or GED, with photo identification, the Fourth Thursday of every month between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the Santa Clara County Joint Apprenticeship Training Center at 908 Bern Court, San Jose, CA 95112. The JATC can be reached at 408-453-1022
