Why is it important to unionize? IBEW employees bargain with strength for wages, benefits and rights when they join together.

A collective bargaining agreement gives you rights. Your employer can’t terminate you at will, or for no good reason. Under collective bargaining, management must have a just cause for any action taken against a union employee. You bargain over wages, health benefits, working conditions, and a retirement plan. You bargain collectively, with the strength that comes from a collective voice.

The IBEW is a democratic union. You run your own union. You elect your own negotiating committee and prepare your own list of improvements for a union contract. You elect your own officers and job stewards,

The IBEW is one of the strongest, most financially secure Unions in the U.S. The IBEW is over 107 years old.
